La Famiglia

Shop 2/2 Snowy River Ave, Jindabyne NSW 2627

La Famiglia is a small but traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Jindabyne. Best known for their homemade pasta and brick fired oven pizza, La Famiglia has raised the bar for Jindabynes Italian Restaurants. Valerio Viscontini opened La Fam back in 2018 when he saw a void that needed to be filled. Fresh, traditional pizza and pasta was the one thing missing from Jindys restaurant scene.

To start, plenty of fresh starters like olives, fresh bread, and kingfish carpaccio will make an entree almost a meal. However, a salad, pizza, and pasta is the perfect amount for 2 people. There are six different pasta dishes on the menu. The gnocchi, fettuccini, and ravioli are all made in-house. The gorgonzola gnocchi is a crowd favourite and you will find yourself unable to stop scooping the sauce onto your plate. The linguine is also a must-try with local Eden muscles as the star of this dish. There are also gluten-free pasta options available.

The pizza dough is handmade every day with a 48-hour proof, which gives the Neopolitan style pizza its pillowy, chewy crust. There is a variety of pizza flavours topped on a San Marzano tomato and mozzarella base or a mozzarella-only base. This isn’t your ordinary pizza shop. You can’t go past the classic margarita for the original Neopolitan pizza. If you like a little bit of spice the Diavoletta is topped with spicy Cacciatore salame and for a vegetarian pizza, try the La Vegana. Pizzas come out hot and ready to demolish.

Ask the staff to recommend the perfect wine pairing or cool down with a local beer on tap. And if cocktails are more your thing, ask the bar to make you one of their signature negronis.
