Your Guide to The Snowy Mountains
The Snowy Mountains, also known as ‘The Snowies’ is a region in Southern New South Wales. As the name suggests, the region is blanketed in snow during the winter months and many people visit the area to ski and snowboard. The Snowy Mountains is home to Australia’s highest mountain, Mt Kosciuszko.
The Snowy Social acknowledges that Aboriginal people were the first people of this land. The Snowy Social recognizes the Ngarigo people as the traditional custodians of the majority of the region we call the Snowy Monaro region. We pay respect to the traditional owners and community members of the land and waters and to Elders’s past, present, and emerging.
